- I have been using Thor the past few days with great success, it works great
- and is a wonderful programme, however I am having trouble setting it up to
- send/get at night while I am asleep. I have written a Rexx programme which
- works fine by itself, that is executed by a Cron programme in the morning,
- does various things to check on connection, makes it if not there, etc, then
- tries to GetTCP.. However, GetTCP fails sometimes, sometimes not.
-
- It will go through the little 'spinning' thingy for a few newsgroups, and will
- sometimes randomly stop and spit out:
-
- \ Can't open news progress file
-
- It doesn't do this all the time, nor does it always stop on the same
- newsgroup. I subscribe to about 8 newsgroups, Amiga/Bicycle/Amateur Radio, so
- no big files, etc...
-
- Also, I have used "Avail Clear" in my Cron programme set for every 5 minutes
- for almost three years, and suddenly since I started running Thor it blows up
- after a few minutes. I took it out of the CronTab, and if I run it myself it
- blows up (but not all the time). Is Thor not allocating libraries it needs to
- keep around and possibly I am clearing out a library it calls upon and
- explodes when it is not found? Perhaps I need to get Enforcer going and see
- if it catches it..
-
- Thanks for any and all help!
